Welcome to Raven's Readings. I'll be reading more from A Room With a View, a 1908 novel by E.M. Forster. It's about a young, sheltered, woman living in the restrained and class conscious culture of Edwardian England. It's both a romance and a humourous critique of the class distinctions at that time.
I started this book last week, and noticed my downloads are down to only 30-50% of my previous stories. It is a beautiful romantic story, but perhaps too slow for some. Would all y’all prefer lighter fare, such as The Wizard of Oz or more Jeeves and Wooster? Leave me a comment, please.
I do readings twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays. If you subscribe to my newsletter, you'll get notified of my updates as soon as they are ready. If you enjoy this reading, or have other classics you'd like to hear, leave me a comment.
In the last chapter, Lucy spent a rainy afternoon learning some interesting tidbits about the other residents. Now it's time to explore the city some more - but that can be dangerous.
If you subscribe to my newsletter, you'll get the next installments as soon as they are ready. If you enjoy this reading, and would like more of my stories or maybe some of the classics, leave me a comment.
And remember that you can manage here which sections from my SubStack you'll get emails for - Fiction, Odds and ends, Podcastings, or all.
