Welcome to Raven's Readings. I'll be reading one final time from A Room With a View, a 1908 novel by E.M. Forster. It's about a young, sheltered, woman living in the restrained and class-conscious culture of Edwardian England. It's both a romance and a humourous critique of the class distinctions at that time.
I do readings twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays. If you subscribe to my substack newsletter, you'll get notified of my updates as soon as they are ready. If you enjoy this reading, or have other classics you'd like to hear, leave me a comment.
We are at the end of this delightful novel, last chapter. Next week I think I'll start Tom Sawyer - any comments?
In the previous chapter, Lucy tried to use the same excuses for her breakup with George's father. He showed remarkable insight, and opened her eyes. In this last chapter, we see that she follows her heart and comes to a decision.
If you subscribe to my newsletter, you'll get the next installments as soon as they are ready. If you enjoy this reading, and would like more of my stories or maybe some of the classics, leave me a comment.
And remember that you can manage here which sections from my SubStack you'll get emails for - Fiction, Odds and ends, Podcastings, or all.
