I like your blog posts. They are thoughtful and witty. And I agree with you about the frustration with'curated' entertainment and news on the internet. It often feels so repetitious, so I like to do unusual things trying to screw up the algorithms.

That's probably the one last reason why I still get newspapers-- the stories might not be as up-to-the-minute as online, but they are often longer and offer more background. But I know that I'm an outlier in valuing those things.

Covid is still with us so I still feel somewhat wary of being with other people at times. But I am making a concerted effort to reconnect with people on the phone and in person. I am being careful, but we humans are not solitary people. I know I feel happier with a walk and some social interaction every day.

Like reading a blog.

Thanks - glad you enjoy them. As for algorithms, none of those on Mastodon. Depending on the timeline I look at on server I picked, I see what the people I follow say, or everyone on the server, or everyone that they follow on other servers. All chronological.

As for newspapers, I'm not a fan of any local ones, so my money goes to a print copy of the Guardian Weekly - International edition.

But I think people will gradually get back to interacting more with each other, especially once this latest COVID wave disappears. If I'm out, I do say hello as I meet up with people, and I chat in the shops.
