- the Friday edition. Thanks again to Project Gutenberg, a great source for copyright-free novels. There’s also a Canadian version, as some of our copyright laws are a little more lenient. Not that all companies care - Spotify (or their bot) disagreed on the freedom. or not, of a Raymond Chandler story I was podcasting, The Big Sleep. After an attempted discussion with the bot over it, a waste of time, they cancelled my account - podcasts as well as my years of libraries and listening.
I also did some SubStack cleanups. I have several sections for my work, to keep it sorted out a bit. Some of them are set to go to everyone on signup, some don’t. On new signup, there’s a link on how to select/unselect various sections, so I’ve tweaked all sections for ‘everyone’ for new people.
Conspiracies - I love the Chemtrails Facebook group. Such a great conspiracy, as it’s not that hard to believe for many. Who knows what’s actually way up there? Maybe they are sponsored by Big Pharma to spread disease. Look at how more prevalent Cancer is. Maybe it’s drugs for mind control, drugs that dumb us all down. Eight US states are actually planning anti-chemtrail legislation.
Netflix 2024 sci-fi - another list. The Machine, Predators (A prequel. No longer on Netflix). Elysium - no longer on Netflix. The Adam Project (some humour) all look good.
TGIF and hot - Stinkin’ hot today, and for a few more. Have we had more heat waves than last summer? Got in a brief walk before 9 but a good day to enjoy the AC and browse the Interwebs.
Politics chat with my sister - we share similar views, in particular pessimism about Trump. So many Epstein revelations, new ones. Denials from various White House officials, from Republicans, from Donald himself. Poorly told lies that aren’t even consistent with each other. Meanwhile, Donald has escaped to Scotland to golf on his own course, paid by taxpayers, of course. After an estimated 43 golf trips in the first six months of his second term, Trump’s Scottish visit for the opening of a new course, being billed as “the greatest 36 holes” in the sport, is expected to cost about $9.7 million, according to an analysis by HuffPost. Those estimates are based on a Government Accountability Office report detailing the costs of Trump’s 2017 trips to his country club in Palm Beach, Florida. Costs were not adjusted for inflation, meaning they could be substantially higher in today’s terms.

Trakt - a great tool. Tracks my viewing on various platforms, and recommends which of them I can see a show on. Re-watched The Machine. Apparently, I saw it before in 2019, but forgot most of it. It’s ok, 7/10.
